Fionn McCabe is a cartoonist, printmaker and educator living on Gadigal/Wangal land in Sydney, Australia. He is a comics educator in the Animation and Visual Communication schools at the University of Technology Sydney and is a co-founder and producer of Read To Me, a live visual storytelling event. His presentation: Harness the Power of Visual Association Like a Total Badass will teach you how abstract mark making and visual style can be used to reinforce themes and emotional content through visual association. Drawing is a record of physical movement and the way something is drawn can add a unique voice and deep emotional subtext to a narrative. In this workshop you will make a short comic that consciously harnesses this powerful and useful visual storytelling tool in a short, autobiographical comic.
Artist Frantz Kantor tells visual stories with his animated caricature drawings. He focuses on making visual language accessible and fun for everyone.
